My Final Major Project

Its finished!!

Here are some images of my final piece of work that brings the B'Tec in Fine Art to a close.

Here is a statement I am going to print and laminate to go with the piece of work also.

"Cosmic Camelia". - "I open to life and I am prepared to let My Light shine."

".... Once in every life, there comes a time,

we walk out all alone, and into the light....

The moment won't last, but then, we remember it again,

when we close our eyes....

like stars across the sky,

E per avvincere, tu dovrai vincere,

We were born to shine,

all of us here because we believe......"

Because we believe - Andrea Bocelli

The large and the small of it all.

I have an amazing friend - well I have more than one actually! but this amazing friend works with essences from flowers, she can just sense and feel the message that the plant has, and when taken in its essence form has a specific and profound effect on the body - physical, spiritual emotional, mental body right back to source.

We are like kindred spirits where plants are concerned, we both love and adore flowers, and I can feel the special resonance they have, thats why I keep going back to them to draw and represent them in stitch.

check out her website www.innerperspectives.co.uk NOW!!!

piccies, piccies and more piccies!

Some amazing shapes and colours! I know ur going to say, u were supposed to be on holiday.... these were too good to miss.

heres some piccies!

This is the latest little beauty! mixed media and stitch inspired by a camelia plant. Its the dna structure in an abstact form!

Terror and tension as the deadline approaches

You know I have never been the calmest of people but lately, things seem to be speeding up so fast, that there doesnt seem to be time to do all I want to do. Obviously this is getting on my nerves as well!!

For me the creative process is what I seem to live for, and find that I can develop and move onto another idea so quickly that the first idea may have not even had time to reach fruition!
I have just been away for the last week, and had to restrain myself from taking any work with me, the pull was so strong to take it and do it in a spare moment. that I had to remind myself that there is a life out there!!

Next week is the dealine for college's final major project and I think its the fact that its called FINAL MAJOR PROJECT - that is scaring the hell out of me, its so final!! so because of that I am having a hard time finding a final idea!! they just keep spilling out and I am not finishing anything.

I know what I have in my head is amazing, but can I get it out......... then there is the time issue when it does come out........ so if you have any ideas apaprt from the usual timetable and prioritising tips - tried them and the brain is strongly resisting them!! - i'm all eyes, ears and any other body part receptive to help - but not in that way!!

Check out my new slideshow of work

Hi folks,
I have just joined another website that showcases your work as a slideshow, check out photobucket.com/albums/11298/debjonestextileartist to view some of my pictures that are featured.

I have been busy working on an oil painting of parrot tulips that can be used as inspiration and a starting point for my textile series of pieces. This will go as the final exhibit for a course I am due to finish in June. - so its all hands on deck at the moment. I will post the ongoing stages of it over the next few days, as I have set the target to complete it by weds at the latest!!

I have just read this morning that it is quite common for artist to suffer from Depsression - especially after exhibitions and shows etc, spose its the come down from working so hard to a tight deadline and the aftermath of wondering what to do next - dont know if anyone else out there gets it - but I seem to get it pretty bad, to the point where I feel totally lost for a while.

My inspiration and motivation really have started to come in waves and a compulsion with it!!

Anyway, riding high at the mo, feeling like I am about to produce something new and groundbreaking , speak to you soon, Debs.
